    Production Tips for Determinate Tomatoes

    Spacing & Density

    Because determinate varieties have a compact canopy, you can plant at higher densities than indeterminate types.     Pruning & Training

    Determinate tomatoes require minimal pruning. Avoid heavy suckering — removing too many laterals can reduce yield on determinate types. Light staking or a single-wire support system is usually sufficient.
