Solid King is a very versatile romaine variety. It has shown very high tolerance to tip-burn and fringe- burn under extremely high temperatures. It has excellent bolting tolerance, tip-burn resistance, and corky root resistance. Solid King has a medium glossy green plant color and has excellent interior texture, which gives it a strong shipping quality. It possesses a smooth solid midrib and smooth leaf petioles. This variety has an impressive weight compared to most romaine types. Heart maturity is earlier than that of Sunbelt.
